Prospective graduate students in mechanical engineering should be advised that currently, George Mason University does not offer a PhD in mechanical engineering. Those students who are interested in working with us have the option to pursue a PhD in Information Technology (focus in Mechanical Engineering), a PhD in Applied and Engineering Physics, or a PhD in Systems Engineering (focus in Mechanical Engineering).
